This page shows a collection of Computer-aided designs (CAD’s) and range plans that were created during my Merchandising subjects while I was at University.

Nine Two Nine Studios (my brand concept)

Nine Two Nine Studios is a brand concept which was created for my university major. All CAD’s were created on Adobe Illustrator using various techniques that were learnt throughout the course.

About the brand and collection:

Nine Two Nine Studios is a sustainable elevated basics brand that encapsulates individuality, confidence, and creativity, it was created with a goal to make individuals feel empowered and confident, allowing them to express who they are through fashion.

The collection features a mix of tops, skirts, pants and outerwear featuring various shapes, styles and cut outs. 929 prides itself on creativity and individuality and aims to create pieces that elevate even the most simple outfits and overall make the consumer feel good in what they are wearing.

Dangerfield (Australian Fashion brand )

For a unit of study we were required to create a Spring Summer 2023 collection for Dangerfield. We were required to create the collection based on Dangerfield’s post seasonal data, current and past sales figures and trend research, all while keeping the brands aesthetic in mind. At the end of the unit we had to present the collection to the Dangerfield design & production team and they analysed the collection and provided us with feedback.

About the collection:

The Dangerfield Black Friday Spring Summer 2023 collection is a 15-piece capsule collection, targeted at 15-25-year-old gender fluid individuals. To stick to Dangerfield’s brand aesthetic, the collection includes many of the brands best-selling silhouettes as well as new designs which were considered based off trend research conducted via WGSN and EDITED. The collection comprises of 8 tops, 3 dresses and 4 bottoms, the reason it being top heavy is tops were the number one sell through category making up 37% of all sales for SS22. The Reason there are no tank tops featured in this capsule is because they did not perform well last season, only receiving a sell through of 4%. (Post seasonal data provided in class).

The collection sticks to Dangerfield’s core colour palette with many garments being black, red and white, with an incorporating of the colour lavender as it is a predicted trending colour for SS23. (WGSN, 2022) The collection also features a staple tartan print which is evident throughout Dangerfield’s previous black Friday collections, now being shown in lavender on the ‘Ghosted mini skirt’ and on the ‘Pinch me midi dress’. Dangerfield is known for their inventive repeat print patterns, which are core items for the brand. A repeat print has been designed for SS23 collection consisting of spider and skull motifs to appeal to Dangerfield’s desired target market. Shown on 3 of the garments in the collection, as well as elements of the pattern taken and used as a placement print on 7 of the other.

The collection embraces 90's nostalgia with elements of WGSN’s ‘biker core’ trend which is communicated through the use of silver hardware on a multitude of garments in the collection from tops to bottoms. The use of silver hardware conveys a grunge aesthetic which perfectly aligns with Dangerfield’s brand persona.
